Hundreds of Indonesian National Police Officers Reassigned, Here Is the List of Officials Promoted
JAKARTA – The Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) has issued two telegram letters containing rotations, reassignments, promotions, and confirmations of positions involving hundreds of high-ranking officers (Pati) and middle-ranking officers (Pamen) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri). The policy is stipulated in Telegram Letters No. ST/1584/VII/KEP./2026 and ST/1585/VII/KEP./2026, issued on July 30, 2026, as a follow-up to the National Police Chief’s Decrees No. Kep/1128/VII/2026 and Kep/1129/VII/2026.
Telegram Letter ST/1584/VII/KEP./2026 contains the reassignment and promotion of at least 109 high-ranking and middle-ranking officers across various units at National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri) and regional police offices. The personnel changes cover Divhubinter, Baintelkam, Baharkam, Sespim Lemdiklat, Pusdokkes, Korbrimob, Stamaops, as well as several Regional Police (Polda) throughout Indonesia.
Under the reshuffle, Brig. Gen. Pol. Dr. Untung Widyatmoko was appointed as Head of the International Relations Division (Kadivhubinter) of Polri, replacing Insp. Gen. Pol. Amur Chandra Juli Buana, who entered retirement. Brig. Gen. Pol. Dr. Wawan Muliawan was promoted to Deputy Head of the Intelligence and Security Agency (Wakabaintelkam), while Brig. Gen. Pol. Dani Hamdani was appointed Secretary of the Indonesia NCB Interpol at the International Relations Division (Ses NCB Interpol Indonesia Divhubinter Polri). Several other officials also received promotions to strategic positions within Baintelkam, Baharkam, Stamaops, Pusdokkes, and various Regional Police offices.
In addition to the reassignments and promotions, the National Police Chief also issued Telegram Letter ST/1585/VII/KEP./2026, which contains confirmations, dismissals, and appointments involving 27 high-ranking and middle-ranking Polri officers. Some officials were confirmed in their current positions, while others were reassigned due to retirement or organizational restructuring.
Among the names listed in ST/1585 are Insp. Gen. Pol. Purwolelono, Insp. Gen. Pol. Hadi Purnomo, Brig. Gen. Pol. Hery Wiyanto, Brig. Gen. Pol. Suhirman, Brig. Gen. Pol. Teguh Yuswardhie, Brig. Gen. Pol. Gatot Agus Budi Utomo, along with several other officials who were either confirmed or reassigned within Lemdiklat, Baharkam, Bareskrim, the Information Technology Division (Div TIK), Densus 88 Anti-Terror, and several Regional Police offices.
Both telegram letters also instruct all listed high-ranking and middle-ranking officers to immediately adjust to and assume their new duties no later than 14 days after the reassignment decision was issued. Polri’s Human Resources function was also instructed to promptly process administrative matters and funding for reassignment travel in accordance with applicable regulations.
