Bukit Asam’s Net Profit Surges 218% to Rp2.64 Trillion in H1 2026

JAKARTA — PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) posted a sharp increase in net profit in the first half of 2026, with earnings reaching Rp2.64 trillion through June, up 218% from Rp833.04 billion in the same period last year.
The stronger bottom line came alongside moderate revenue growth. PTBA reported revenue of Rp22.02 trillion for the first six months of 2026, a 7.7% increase from approximately Rp20.45 trillion recorded in the first half of 2025.
Coal sales remained the company’s main source of revenue. Of the total revenue, approximately Rp12.3 trillion came from sales to third-party customers.
Sales to related parties contributed another Rp9.36 trillion. One of the largest transactions in this category was coal sales to state-owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero), or PLN, which amounted to approximately Rp6.88 trillion.
With profit growth significantly outpacing revenue growth, PTBA strengthened its financial performance during the first six months of the year.
The company’s net profit was more than three times higher than its earnings in the first half of 2025.
The performance highlights the strong contribution of PTBA’s coal business to its financial results through mid-2026. Coal sales continued to serve as the company’s primary revenue driver, both through transactions with third parties and related entities.
