Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto has officially appointed Sudaryono as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), replacing Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, who resigned from the position due to health reasons. The inauguration ceremony took place at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (July 22).
Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said Sudaryono’s appointment was made to ensure the continuity of leadership at the National Nutrition Agency, given its crucial role in implementing the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.
Before taking on his new role, Sudaryono served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture in the Red and White Cabinet. With his appointment, he succeeds Nanik Deyang, who stepped down to undergo heart treatment abroad.
Sudaryono, widely known by his nickname Mas Dar, was born in Grobogan, Central Java, on January 23, 1985. Coming from a farming family, he graduated from Taruna Nusantara Senior High School before continuing his studies at Japan’s National Defense Academy. He later earned a doctoral degree from IPB University.
Throughout his career, Sudaryono has been actively involved in agriculture and organizational leadership. Prior to becoming Head of the National Nutrition Agency, he served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture under President Prabowo’s administration. He is also the Chairman of the Central Java Regional Executive Board of the Gerindra Party and has been actively involved in promoting programs aimed at increasing Indonesia’s agricultural productivity.
As the new Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Sudaryono now faces the challenge of strengthening the institution’s governance, accelerating the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals program, and ensuring that the program is distributed effectively across the country.
