Danantara Still Objects to Rp120 Trillion Payment to State, Purbaya: It’s a Presidential Order

Jakarta – Plans for the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) to transfer Rp120 trillion to the state budget are still facing objections from within the organization.

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said Danantara continues to protest the plan. Nevertheless, the government remains committed to receiving the funds as additional state revenue.

Purbaya said Danantara’s contribution could become one of the sources of state income, particularly amid projections of lower Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) in 2027.

“We still have other sources that we can use as new sources of revenue. One that is fairly visible is Danantara. We will put it into PNBP. Although they are still protesting, it is the President’s order that part of Danantara’s profits be set aside as a reserve for the government budget,” Purbaya said at the 2026 Sarasehan of 100 Indonesian Economists at the Kempinski Hotel in Central Jakarta, as quoted by detikcom.

According to Purbaya, Danantara’s objection stems from claims that the organization was not aware of the plan to make the payment to the state. However, he stressed that the contribution had previously been promised to President Prabowo Subianto.

“They said, ‘I don’t know about it.’ But it is the President’s order. Danantara was the one that made the promise to the President,” Purbaya said.

Despite the objections, Purbaya said the funds would still be transferred. The government expects the contribution from Danantara to provide an additional fiscal buffer.

When asked about the amount, Purbaya reiterated that the planned contribution would be around Rp120 trillion.

He said he was not yet certain about the exact mechanism of the payment, including whether it would take the form of dividends or come directly from Danantara’s profits.

“From the profits. Maybe dividends, I don’t know yet. Mr. Rosan was the one who promised it to the President. I’ll just take it, that’s good,” Purbaya said.
