Inspector General Totok, Who Handled Febrie Case, Now Appointed West Sulawesi Police Chief

JAKARTA — National Police Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto has transferred Inspector General Totok Suharyanto from his position as Head of the Corruption Crime Eradication Corps (Kakortastipidkor) of the Indonesian National Police. Totok has now been appointed Chief of the West Sulawesi Regional Police (Kapolda Sulbar).

The appointment is stipulated in National Police Chief Telegram Letter Number ST/2205/X/KEP./2026, issued on October 2, 2026. The transfer is part of an organizational reshuffle involving 88 senior and mid-ranking police officers.

Totok’s former position as Head of Kortastipidkor will be filled by Inspector General Arie Ardian Rishadi.

Head of the National Police Public Relations Division Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir said the transfers were part of organizational dynamics and were carried out based on institutional needs.

“Transfers and rotations are part of the dynamics of the National Police organization. They are carried out according to organizational needs as well as part of career development and organizational renewal in carrying out police duties,” Johnny said in a statement on Saturday (October 3, 2026).

Totok previously drew public attention when Kortastipidkor handled a case involving former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office, Febrie Adriansyah.

Totok’s transfer comes amid a major reshuffle within the National Police following Suyudi’s appointment as National Police Chief. A total of 88 senior and mid-ranking officers were included in the reshuffle, with 70 officers receiving promotions or being assigned to new positions.

The reshuffle also included rank promotions for 21 officers and adjustments to the career levels of several senior and mid-ranking officers.

Several strategic positions at National Police Headquarters were also changed as part of the broader rotation.
