The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), arrived at El Tari Airport in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Friday (31/7/2026) at approximately 11:30 a.m. Central Indonesia Time (WITA). His arrival was warmly welcomed by local residents and supporters who had been waiting since before his plane landed.
Dressed in a white shirt and white cap, and wearing a traditional East Nusa Tenggara woven scarf around his neck, Jokowi immediately became the center of attention among the crowd gathered at the arrival area. Many residents tried to approach him to shake his hand, while others took the opportunity to capture the moment by taking photos with the former head of state.
Jokowi took time to accommodate several requests for selfies before proceeding to the vehicle that had been prepared for his visit agenda in Kupang City and Kupang Regency.
Before beginning his official activities, Jokowi first performed the Friday prayer at Al Mujahidin Mosque in the Penfui area of Kupang City.
After the prayer, he was scheduled to meet with local residents at Oesina Beach in West Kupang District, Kupang Regency. His next agenda was to visit a warehouse in the Jalur 40 area of Kupang City before taking a rest at Harper Hotel.
Jokowi’s visit will continue on Saturday (1/8/2026). The former two-term President is scheduled to attend the Car Free Day event on El Tari Street in Kupang City in the morning. In the afternoon, he will attend the Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), which will be held at Harper Hotel.
The visit will conclude with Jokowi’s attendance at the Cultural Festival to be held at Tedis Beach in Kupang City on Saturday afternoon.
This visit marks Joko Widodo’s first trip to East Nusa Tenggara Province since completing his tenure as President of the Republic of Indonesia.
