Jakarta – Kuntadi has been nominated as the next Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) to replace Febrie Adriansyah. The nomination has been submitted by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin to President Prabowo Subianto and is currently awaiting evaluation by the Final Assessment Team (TPA) before a final decision is made by the President.
The nomination was also confirmed by State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi. However, he emphasized that Kuntadi has not yet officially assumed the position, as the appointment must first go through the required selection process for senior state officials. While awaiting the President’s decision, the position of Jampidsus is being held by Acting Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Plt Jampidsus), Rudi Margono.
Kuntadi currently serves as Head of the Asset Recovery Agency (Badan Pemulihan Aset/BPA) at the Attorney General’s Office. Previously, he was widely known as the Director of Investigation at the Office of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, where he led investigations into a number of high-profile corruption cases that attracted nationwide public attention.
Born in Semarang on January 4, 1970, Dr. Kuntadi, S.H., M.H. began his career as a public prosecutor and has held several strategic positions within the Attorney General’s Office. He previously served as Chief Prosecutor of East Java before being appointed to lead the Asset Recovery Agency.
During his tenure in the Special Crimes Division, Kuntadi was involved in handling several major corruption cases, including the 4G BTS telecommunications infrastructure corruption case, the tin commodity trading corruption case, and the crude palm oil (CPO) export corruption case. His experience in leading these major investigations is considered one of the reasons his name has emerged as a strong candidate for the Jampidsus position.
In addition to his investigative experience, Kuntadi also has extensive expertise in state asset recovery. As Head of the Asset Recovery Agency, he is responsible for managing, safeguarding, and optimizing assets seized and confiscated by the state to maximize their value and benefit for the country.
If approved by the President, Kuntadi will take over the leadership of the Office of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes at a time when the institution remains under intense public scrutiny over its handling of several major corruption cases. His official appointment will only be finalized after all administrative procedures and the Final Assessment Team’s evaluation have been completed.
