Jakarta – Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo has finally responded to claims that PT Pembangunan Perumahan (PT PP) Tbk Commissioner Aisyah Zakiyyah is his niece. Responding to the issue that has been widely circulated on social media, Dody denied the allegation in an unusual way.
Dody stated that he would offer a free Umrah pilgrimage to anyone who can prove that Aisyah is indeed his niece.
“Anyone who can prove that Aisyah is my niece will receive a free Umrah pilgrimage from me, if they are Muslim,” Dody said in a statement, as quoted by detikcom on Wednesday (July 15).
Aisyah Zakiyyah also made a similar statement. She challenged those alleging a family relationship with the Minister of Public Works to present evidence. However, neither Dody nor Aisyah provided further explanation regarding the origin of the issue or the nature of their personal relationship.
Aisyah’s name has drawn public attention following her appointment as Commissioner of PT PP, which sparked discussion on social media. In addition to the alleged family ties with the Minister of Public Works, a number of netizens have also questioned her background and qualifications for the position.
Previously, PT PP also emphasized that the appointment of members of the Board of Commissioners is the authority of the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS). The company stated that the decision was based on nominations from shareholders in accordance with the applicable procedures and carried out in compliance with prevailing laws and regulations as well as the company’s articles of association.
