Jakarta – Danantara Indonesia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rosan Roeslani said the streamlining of more than 250 State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) entities is targeted to be completed by the end of July 2026.
Rosan made the statement after reporting the progress of the government’s SOE transformation program to President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Monday.
“By the end of this month, the streamlining process will cover 250 companies, and it could even exceed that number,” Rosan said.
According to Rosan, the consolidation is being carried out across various sectors to improve efficiency and strengthen the competitiveness of state-owned companies. In the financial sector, Danantara has consolidated several asset management functions, including those involving state-owned financing institutions such as Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM). Similar consolidation efforts are also underway in the logistics, healthcare, and hospitality sectors.
However, Rosan did not disclose the final number of SOE entities after the restructuring process or provide a timeline for completing the overall transformation. He emphasized that the consolidation will continue as part of Danantara’s broader SOE reform agenda.
Previously, Danantara announced plans to simplify the SOE structure from approximately 1,077 entities to around 200–300 entities through mergers, consolidation, and corporate restructuring. The initiative is aimed at improving operational efficiency, strengthening corporate governance, eliminating overlapping business activities, and creating more competitive state-owned enterprises.
One of the major initiatives under the restructuring plan is the establishment of a national airline holding company, with Garuda Indonesia serving as the parent company while Pelita Air becomes part of the Garuda Group. The government believes the move will strengthen Indonesia’s aviation ecosystem, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the industry’s regional competitiveness.
