JAKARTA — Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi has responded to reports about the possibility of President Prabowo Subianto reshuffling the Red and White Cabinet in August 2026.
Prasetyo stressed that there is currently no plan for a cabinet reshuffle. According to him, if there are changes to the cabinet structure, they would be related to the need to fill positions that are still vacant.
“There is no plan for a reshuffle,” Prasetyo said.
Prasetyo said there are several positions in the government that remain vacant, including the position of Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections.
However, Prasetyo has not disclosed when the vacant positions will be filled.
Meanwhile, regarding rumors of a change in the National Police chief, Prasetyo confirmed that no presidential letter, or surpres, regarding a change of National Police chief had been sent to the House of Representatives (DPR).
Therefore, as of August 7, 2026, the Palace has not confirmed any plan for a Red and White Cabinet reshuffle in August. The government has also not announced when the vacant deputy ministerial positions will be filled.
Rumors of a cabinet reshuffle had previously circulated ahead of Indonesia’s Independence Day celebrations in August. However, Prasetyo stressed that there was no reshuffle plan as suggested by the circulating reports.
