Latest IPO Survey: How Does the Public Assess the Prabowo Government?

JAKARTA — Public satisfaction with the performance of President Prabowo Subianto’s government has reached 63 percent, according to a survey conducted by Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO).

In the survey, 57 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with Prabowo’s performance, while another 6 percent said they were very satisfied. On the other hand, 30 percent of respondents said they were dissatisfied and 5 percent very dissatisfied. Another 2 percent of respondents said they did not know or declined to answer.

IPO Executive Director Dedi Kurnia Syah said the satisfaction level indicated that public perceptions of the government remained relatively stable.

According to Dedi, the majority of people still viewed the government as operating in the right direction, as the level of satisfaction remained higher than dissatisfaction.

The IPO survey also identified several factors influencing positive public perceptions of President Prabowo.

The Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program was the factor most frequently cited by respondents, at 15.7 percent. This was followed by 12.5 percent who viewed Prabowo as actively fighting corruption, while 11 percent cited the provision of social assistance as a reason for their satisfaction.

Another 7.2 percent of respondents said government programs provided benefits that could be directly felt by the public.

Other factors included Prabowo’s leadership character, which was considered firm and impartial by 5.8 percent of respondents. His ability to deal with various crisis situations was cited by 4 percent, while 3.8 percent believed Prabowo had succeeded in maintaining better economic conditions. Another 3.5 percent viewed Prabowo as caring about the people.

Dedi said the findings indicated that people tended to assess the government based on policies whose benefits could be directly felt in their daily lives.

Although the satisfaction level remained higher, 35 percent of respondents said they were dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with the government’s performance. Therefore, IPO said consistency in implementing priority programs, improving governance, and enhancing the quality of public services remained important factors in maintaining public trust.

The IPO survey was conducted from July 27 to August 3, 2026, involving 1,200 respondents across Indonesia. Respondents were selected using a multistage random sampling method, with a 95 percent confidence level and a margin of error of approximately ±2.9 percent.
