JAKARTA — The latest Tempo Data Science survey shows a significant shift in the presidential electability landscape. Dedi Mulyadi emerged as the strongest candidate, recording 42 percent support and placing well ahead of Prabowo Subianto and Anies Baswedan.
When respondents were presented with a list of candidates, Dedi Mulyadi received 42 percent support. Prabowo ranked second with 15 percent, followed by Anies Baswedan with 10 percent. Gibran Rakabuming Raka recorded 6 percent.
Dedi also led in the open-ended question, in which respondents were not given a list of candidates. He received 41 percent, while Prabowo stood at 15 percent and Anies at 10 percent. Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Sherly Tjoanda each received 4 percent.
The shift becomes more apparent when compared with previous surveys. Dedi’s electability rose from 19.4 percent in December 2025 to 24.2 percent in February 2026, before reaching 42 percent in the latest survey.
By contrast, Prabowo’s electability fell from 48.2 percent in December 2025 to 37.6 percent in February 2026 and then to 15 percent. Anies remained relatively stable at around 10 percent.
Despite the changes, the electoral landscape remains fluid. Some 48 percent of respondents said they might still change their choice. Being close to the people was the most important consideration in choosing a president, cited by 25 percent of respondents, followed by programs or platforms at 19 percent and personality or decisiveness at 19 percent.
