BPK Begins Audit of Danantara’s 2025 Financial Statements, All SOEs Included in Scope

JAKARTA — Indonesia’s Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) has officially begun examining the Consolidated Financial Statements of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) for the 2025 fiscal year. The examination covers not only BPI Danantara’s financial statements, but also the asset and investment management entities as well as all state-owned enterprises (SOEs) within the Danantara structure.

The audit was formally launched through a Grand Entry Meeting and the handover of the Audit Assignment Letter by BPK Member VII Slamet Edy Purnomo to BPI Danantara Executive Board Chairman Rosan Roeslani in Jakarta on Thursday (September 17, 2026). The meeting was also attended by BPI Danantara Supervisory Board Deputy Chairman Muliaman Darmansyah Hadad and Head of the SOE Regulatory Agency Dony Oskaria.

All SOEs Included in the Audit Scope

BPK said the scope of the examination covers BPI Danantara, PT Danantara Aset Manajemen (DAM), PT Danantara Investasi Manajemen (DIM), as well as all SOEs within the BPI Danantara structure.

With such a broad scope, the BPK examination constitutes an audit of consolidated financial statements covering the overall asset and investment management structure under Danantara, rather than being limited to the financial statements of the investment management agency itself.

BPK said the examination is aimed at assessing the fairness of the financial statements while strengthening governance and accountability in the management of finances within the Danantara structure.

Risk-Based Audit Approach

As part of the examination, BPK will assess whether the financial statements comply with accounting standards, evaluate the adequacy of disclosures, examine compliance with laws and regulations, and assess the effectiveness of internal control systems.

The examination will use a risk-based approach to identify potential material misstatements, fraud, misuse of funds, non-compliance, and weaknesses in internal control systems.

BPK Member VII Slamet Edy Purnomo emphasized that auditors require adequate access to data, information, and relevant parties to identify and respond to material risks during the examination.

“BPK is committed to strengthening governance and accountability at BPI Danantara as the foundation for high-quality financial reporting,” Slamet said in an official statement.

Unaudited Financial Statements Submitted in July

Before the examination began, BPI Danantara submitted its 2025 Consolidated Financial Statements, which were still unaudited, to BPK on July 20, 2026.

BPK subsequently carried out several preparations, including updating its risk and materiality assessments as well as its audit strategy. The Audit Assignment Letter was issued on August 14, 2026, ahead of the formal commencement of the examination in September.

The examination is being conducted under, among other regulations, Law No. 15 of 2004 on the Examination of the Management and Accountability of State Finances, Law No. 15 of 2006 on BPK, as well as provisions under the SOE Law as amended, including Law No. 16 of 2025.

BPK has requested cooperation and support from Danantara, all SOEs, and the public accounting firms involved to ensure that the examination proceeds on schedule while maintaining independence, integrity, and professionalism.
