Budi Susanto Appointed New President Director of SMF, Replacing Ananta Wiyogo

Jakarta – PT Sarana Multigriya Finansial (Persero), or SMF, has appointed a new President Director. Budi Susanto has been named President Director of SMF, replacing Ananta Wiyogo, who led the company for approximately a decade.
The appointment was announced through SMF’s official Instagram account. In the post, SMF congratulated Budi Susanto on his appointment as President Director of PT SMF (Persero), while also expressing its appreciation to Ananta Wiyogo for his leadership, dedication, and 10 years of service to the company.
The leadership change marks the end of Ananta’s long tenure at the helm of SMF. He was first appointed President Director of SMF in August 2016. In 2021, he was reappointed to lead the company for another five-year term. His reappointment was stipulated in Minister of Finance Decree No. 290/KMK.06/2021.
During his tenure, SMF strengthened its role as a liquidity provider within Indonesia’s housing finance ecosystem and as one of the Ministry of Finance’s Special Mission Vehicles (SMVs).
As of June 2026, Ananta reported that SMF’s cumulative financing distribution since the company was established in 2005 had reached Rp141.61 trillion. Financing distribution in the first half of 2026 alone amounted to Rp14.09 trillion.
In terms of financial performance, SMF recorded net profit of Rp391 billion in the first half of 2026, an increase of 33.9 percent compared with the same period a year earlier. The company’s total assets reached Rp68.29 trillion, growing 21.79 percent year-on-year.
Budi Susanto Is No Stranger to the State-Owned Enterprise Sector
Before taking the top position at SMF, Budi Susanto served as President Director of PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia (KBI), a company under the Danareksa state-owned enterprise holding.
KBI’s official profile records Budi as President Director since 2024. Previously, he served as a director of KBI from 2022 to 2023. He has also served as Director of Finance and Risk Management at PT Kawasan Industri Wijayakusuma and held several positions at PT BRI Danareksa Sekuritas and PT Danareksa Sekuritas.
Budi holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Indonesia and a master’s degree in Capital Markets from the same faculty.
His appointment at SMF is notable given his extensive background in finance and capital markets. The experience is relevant to SMF’s business, which involves not only housing finance but also asset securitization and raising funds through financial market instruments.
Budi also faces significant challenges ahead. In the second half of 2026, SMF is preparing strategies to strengthen liquidity for the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP), develop innovative financing schemes, and deepen the housing asset securitization market.
As part of the government’s housing programs, SMF also plays an important role in supporting FLPP financing. In July 2026, SMF, together with BP Tapera and the Association of Regional Development Banks (Asbanda), strengthened cooperation on housing finance distribution to support the government’s 3 Million Houses Program.
