Harris Abdi Sembiring Meliala Officially Leads Pertamina Trans Kontinental

JAKARTA — PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) officially has a new President Director. The company’s shareholders appointed Harris Abdi Sembiring Meliala as President Director of PTK on Thursday (August 20, 2026).
The appointment took place at PTK’s headquarters in Jakarta, as the company continues to strengthen operational integration and expand its maritime services business under Pertamina’s Integrated Marine Logistics Subholding (SH IML).
Harris said the position represents both a responsibility and a challenge to maintain and further strengthen PTK’s reputation. He said he would focus on strengthening the company’s operational services.
Under his leadership, Harris introduced the SIAP strategic framework, which stands for Solutive, Integrity, Adaptive, and Proven. The framework will serve as one of the company’s operational guidelines moving forward.
According to Harris, PTK must continue adapting to developments in the shipping industry and organizational restructuring. The company will also strengthen its operational capabilities in both captive and non-captive markets while exploring new market opportunities.
Career at Pertamina
Harris is not new to the Pertamina Group. He began his career at Pertamina in 2003 and has held various positions across several Pertamina Group entities.
Before being appointed President Director of PTK, Harris served as Vice President of Crude & Gas Operation at PT Pertamina International Shipping from 2020 to 2024.
He was subsequently appointed Vice President of Clean Petroleum Tanker at PT Pertamina International Shipping from 2024 to 2026. In 2026, Harris also served as Principal Expert III of Fleet Logistics at Pertamina Patra Niaga.
Harris holds a degree in Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding Engineering from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya. He later pursued a master’s degree in management at the University of Indonesia, which he completed in 2013.
Leading a Company with Rp 1.32 Trillion in Net Profit
Harris takes over PTK as the company records relatively strong financial performance.
In 2025, PTK posted net profit of approximately Rp 1.32 trillion, an increase of 23 percent compared with around Rp 1.07 trillion in 2024. The company’s operating revenue in 2025 reached approximately Rp 8.4 trillion.
The performance provides a strong foundation for the new management to continue expanding the business. PTK had previously targeted net profit of more than Rp 1 trillion in 2026, amid challenges including rupiah depreciation and fluctuations in global oil prices.
Operationally, PTK operated around 370 vessels in 2025, with total commission days exceeding 120,000 days. The company also recorded more than 31,000 vessel calls through its vessel agency services during the year.
PTK’s Role in Pertamina’s Maritime Business
PTK is a subsidiary of Pertamina’s Integrated Marine Logistics Subholding. Its businesses include the provision and operation of supporting vessels, port operations, maritime services, and coastal logistics bases, or shorebases.
The position gives PTK an important role in supporting Pertamina’s maritime operations and energy distribution activities across Indonesia.
With Harris at the helm, PTK is expected to strengthen its operational capabilities while expanding its presence in both captive and non-captive markets.
