JAKARTA – Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, met with representatives of the Telkom Indonesia Employees’ Union (Sekar Telkom), alongside the boards of directors of Telkom and Danantara, at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Jakarta. The meeting concluded with an assurance that Telkom Group’s streamlining process would not result in any layoffs.

The agreement was reached following weeks of discussions facilitated by the House of Representatives. Deputy Chairman of House Commission VI, Andre Rosiade, said the commission had been instructed by the DPR leadership to follow up on the concerns raised by Sekar Telkom through intensive communication between the labor union, Danantara, and Telkom’s management until a mutually acceptable solution was achieved.

In addition to guaranteeing that no layoffs will occur, all employees affected by the restructuring will remain part of the Telkom Group workforce, retaining the same employment status, benefits, incentives, and employment rights. Some employees will be reassigned to a new business unit, Telkom Enterprise, with assurances that their employment status will remain protected even if the unit’s future development does not proceed as planned.

The agreement also covers employees of subsidiaries that are no longer operating, including PT PINS Indonesia. Telkom and Danantara have committed to ensuring the continued payment of salaries and the protection of workers’ rights throughout the transformation process.

Sekar Telkom Chairman Nasri welcomed the outcome of the discussions. He said that maintaining employees’ status as workers of a state-owned enterprise (SOE) had been the union’s primary objective throughout the process. He expressed hope that all points of the agreement would be implemented gradually in accordance with the commitments that had been made.

The streamlining initiative is part of Telkom’s broader transformation into a more agile and efficient Strategic Holding. Previously, Telkom completed the consolidation of 10 business entities as part of its strategy to optimize its business portfolio and strengthen its competitiveness in the telecommunications and digital sectors.
