JAKARTA — Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has approved Aida S. Budiman as Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) for the 2026-2031 term. At the same time, the commission selected Solikin M. Juhro as Deputy Governor of BI for the same period.
The decision was reached by consensus after Commission XI completed a series of fit and proper tests for candidates for BI’s leadership positions.
Aida was previously nominated by President Prabowo Subianto as the sole candidate for Senior Deputy Governor of BI. She underwent the fit and proper test alongside BI Governor candidate Destry Damayanti on Wednesday (August 26, 2026).
Meanwhile, Solikin was selected after undergoing his fit and proper test on Thursday (August 27, 2026). He was chosen over M. Anwar Bashori, who was also nominated for the position of BI Deputy Governor.
Solikin currently serves as Head of BI’s Macroeconomic Policy Department. During the fit and proper test, he outlined three main missions: maintaining dynamic stability, supporting high economic growth, and strengthening an inclusive economy.
The selection of Aida and Solikin is part of the process of forming Bank Indonesia’s new Board of Governors. In the same decision, Commission XI also selected Destry Damayanti as BI Governor-elect for the 2026-2031 term.
Destry previously served as BI’s Senior Deputy Governor and became acting BI Governor after Perry Warjiyo resigned from the position in July 2026.
Although approved by Commission XI, the three candidates still require confirmation by the DPR RI plenary session. The approval is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The BI leadership lineup selected at the commission level for the 2026-2031 term is therefore Destry Damayanti as Governor, Aida S. Budiman as Senior Deputy Governor, and Solikin M. Juhro as Deputy Governor.
