Jakarta – The Indonesian government has officially appointed the Danantara Investment Management Agency to lead the country’s cross-border electricity export cooperation with Singapore. The announcement was made by President Prabowo Subianto during a bilateral meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
According to detikFinance, President Prabowo said Danantara will be responsible for implementing the electricity export partnership between Indonesia and Singapore. In addition, the agency has been tasked with strengthening cooperation in trade, the digital economy, the digital ecosystem, and cybersecurity.
During the meeting, the two leaders also discussed several other strategic partnerships. Prabowo stated that Indonesia and Singapore had agreed to enhance cooperation in food security, supply chain resilience, and the continued implementation of previously agreed defense and security cooperation.
The appointment of Danantara marks an important step in accelerating the long-planned cross-border electricity trade, which is expected to strengthen energy cooperation and economic ties between Indonesia and Singapore.
