Jumbo Bank Deposits Keep Growing! Deposits Above Rp5 Billion Surge 15.44%

Jakarta – The Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) reported that the growth of public bank deposits remained solid through June 2026. Increases were recorded across all deposit categories, with the strongest growth coming from accounts holding balances above Rp5 billion, which surged 15.44% year-on-year.
Chairman of the LPS Board of Commissioners, Anggito Abimanyu, said that deposit growth across various account categories ranged from 0.78% to 15.44%. According to him, the largest increase occurred in deposits exceeding Rp5 billion, which were predominantly held by corporate customers.
Meanwhile, deposits of up to Rp100 million, which are mostly owned by individual customers, also recorded positive growth of 5.16% compared with the same period last year. More specifically, deposits below Rp5 million increased by 7.36%, while balances ranging from Rp5 million to Rp10 million grew by 10.01%.
For the mid-range deposit categories, accounts with balances between Rp100 million and Rp200 million rose by 4.2%, balances of Rp200 million to Rp500 million increased by 3.07%, deposits between Rp500 million and Rp1 billion grew by 2.32%, while deposits ranging from Rp1 billion to Rp2 billion rose by 2.67%. Meanwhile, accounts with balances between Rp2 billion and Rp5 billion increased by 4.78%.
LPS believes that the growth across all deposit categories indicates that banks’ third-party funds (DPK) remain in a healthy condition. Banking sector liquidity is considered to be well maintained despite ongoing uncertainties in the global economy.
In addition, LPS noted that approximately 46.5 million Indonesians still do not have a bank account. Of that number, around 15.3 million are people aged 15–20, and the figure is projected to decline to 13.5 million by the end of 2026 as financial inclusion continues to improve.
